About Us
The SD&G Community Futures Development Corporation is a community-based not-for-profit development and investment agency governed by a volunteer board of directors. The organization is funded by the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario) and the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry. It also receives funding from other Federal Departments and Provincial Ministries for project initiatives.
Our Networks
The SD&G CFDC is part of a Government of Canada initiative which supports 61 Community Futures Development Corporations (CFDCs) in Ontario. FedDev Ontario works with the 37 CFDCs in rural Eastern and Southern Ontario. For more information about the CFDC Program visit www.oacfdc.com.
The organization is also a member of the Eastern Ontario CFDC Network Inc. The Network brings the 15 CFDCs of Eastern Ontario together to educate the public on the regional initiatives that are benefiting the economic prosperity of eastern Ontario, and provide a communication avenue where eastern Ontario CFDCs can share information and best practice as well as connect with the activities of the EO Warden’s Caucus and the Ontario East Marketing Commission. Locally, the SD&G CFDC works with, among others:
- The Economic Development Officers Working Group (an informal group that shares information and leverages opportunities to partner)
- The City of Cornwall Economic Development department
- The Eastern Ontario Training Board
- Le Réseau de développement économique et d’employabilité de l’Ontario
- The Cornwall Business Enterprise Centre
